2021 Graduation Date Set

Several individuals, community groups, and businesses were thanked at Monday evening’s HCUSD2’s school board meeting for donating bicycles to Bonfield Grade School’s annual bike giveaway. The winners were: Liam F,  Kalvin T, Lilliahnna J, Skylar D, Trace W, Paisley B, Cali F, Bradley F, Brentlee N, Owen S, Kenedi H, Annistyn G, Dylan W, Meadow S, Avery A, Axten B, Mason K, Haiven G, Logan G, Finn G, Belinda J, Daniel W, Trenton W, Gianna S, Isla S, Ambrose B, Annabelle R, and Khloe G.

At Monday evening’s Herscher CUSD#2 board meeting, graduation was approved for May 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm.

In addition, Kevin Wills, of Bernardi Securities, discussed municipal bond refinancing. As a result, the board approved the refinancing of $700,000 in bonds. This agreement will expire upon the seating of a new board after the April 2021 election, and will need to be reapproved by the new board.

The 2020-2021 school year calendar was amended to change the early dismissal days to regular school days for the remainder of the year.

The 2021-2022 school year calendar was approved as well. The chosen calendar is similar to the current one with the first day of student attendance on August 17. Christmas vacation will be two full weeks. The last day for students will be May 27 if no emergency days are used.

Regarding personnel, non-certified retirement notices were accepted for Sherry Parks - Secretary BGS, and Kathy Lake - Secretary LMS.

Non-certified resignations were approved for Crystal Pombert - HHS paraprofessional, and Tammy Walthers - route driver.

Non-certified hires were Tricia Grigas - HHS Food Service Cashier, Jamie Adams - Food Service Cashier, Jennifer Gray - LMS Paraprofessional, and Tanyha Osenga - BGS lunchroom monitor.

Also, Jessica Brinkman was appointed as the HHS Creative Writing Club Sponsor.
