Austin Scott, 13, of Reddick, passed away June 23, 2017 after battling cancer.

To honor Austin’s memory, his mother, Duanita, established Austin’s Humble and Kind Foundation.

The foundation is designed to provide support for childhood cancer patients.

In December, the foundation collected enough donations to provide 150 care packages for children at Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Girl Scouts, a 4-H club, corporations, groups and individuals all came together to support this cause.

Duanita shares, “ I personally know what these small tokens mean to these kids in the hospital. Although we miss Austin Scott everyday, we know his spirit of giving back to others is with us every time we see the love and support you all give us to make his dreams come true.

I find myself daily thinking of the faith he had and finding strength in knowing that I am no doubt making him proud by continuing his legacy to spread love and support to others.”

Duanita concludes, “We are really starting to grow and have some high goals set for 2020. We are so blessed to be a part of an amazing community”.
