At Monday evening’s Herscher Village Board meeting, Andy Cotter announced that a donated book box will be soon be located at one of the Village Park locations. The purpose of the box is for children to take a donated book to read and/or leave another for other children.
Tuesday, August 20, marks the beginning of the resource officer’s presence in the district’s schools for a second year.
Advanced Blasting and Coating Solutions won the bid to do the painting project at the sewer plant.
In new business, the board approved a $500 donation to the Herscher Unit 2 PTA Walk-A-Thon to be split between the village and the police department accounts.
In executive session, the board accepted the resignation of Claire Chaplinski as the village attorney.
