During Monday evening’s Herscher CUSD2 board meeting, the board approved the budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

In addition, the 6th day enrollment was discussed. For the second year in a row, enrollment has increased in the Herscher CUSD2 school district after a low of 1562 in the 2020-2021 school year. 

Bonfield Grade School has 243 students with an additional 61 preschoolers. Herscher Intermediate school has 365 students. Limestone Middle School has 497 students, and Herscher High School has 501 students.

The smallest class is the 6th grade with 99 students, and the largest is the 8th grade class with 154 students.

The total number of students for the year is 1606, 1672 counting preschoolers.

 Regarding personnel, Non-Certified Resignations were accepted from Krista Meyer – LMS Parapro, Rita Sanchez – HIS Parapro, and Nicole Hutson – BGS PT Custodian.

Also, Kevin Promis resigned as a HHS Best Buddies Co-Sponsor.

Tracey Jurka was hired to teach BGS Kindergarten.

Non-Certified Hires were: Kendra Morris – HIS Parapro,  Traci Freitas – Physical Therapist, Nicollette Shelton – BGS Parapro, George Elsey – BGS Part-time Custodian,

Brenda Smith – Herscher Complex Route Driver,  Angela Vimpeny – BGS Bus Aide, Rhiannon Clark – BGS Bus Aide and Beth Ortman – HIS Bus Aide.

The following were appointed for extracurriculars: Kathryn Domalik – LMS Speech Coach, Jennifer Thurston – HHS SEA Sponsor, and Trevor Berns – HHS Football volunteer.
