After months devoid of high school sports, they are making a comeback this week. IHSA released new guidelines on January 27 which includes the latest sports schedule for the remainder of 2020-2021.
Brad Elliot, Herscher High School principal, has released the following information:
With the great news of Illinois moving to Phase 4, HHS athletics will officially be getting underway February 2 with our first Varsity boys basketball game at Dwight at 6:30 pm.
Here is the Link for the IHSA approved schedule for the remainder of the school year.
Tiger fans will want to use https://il.8to18.com/Herscher for the most up-to-date scheduling information.
For boys and girls basketball, unfortunately, Covid restrictions are limiting our fans to home contests, only. Fans will have to sit 30 ft. from the court, and no visiting team guests will be allowed in the gym. Herscher fans will not be able to attend away games. There will be a strict limit of 3 fans per athlete.
Sophomore games will begin at 5:30 pm. Fans can enter at 5:20 pm. Varsity games will begin at 7:00 pm. No Varsity contests will begin early. Varsity fans will be admitted into the High School Cafeteria at 6:50 pm. Once the crowd has exited, upon the conclusion of the sophomore game, Varsity fans will be seated.
Please help us continue to offer these opportunities by following social distancing protocols. All fans must wear a mask while inside our building.
Finally, the Athletic Booster club made a generous donation allowing us to stream all contests held in the high school gym. Most away games will be live-streamed, as well. Stay tuned for details about away games. Please visit https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/ to create an account. There is a fee of $10.99/month or $69.99/year. In attempt to offset this cost to our fans, no admission will be charged for home events, for this season.
