Horse Creek Clean-up Nears Completion

A large amount of debris has already been removed from Horse Creek in Herscher in an attempt to curb the potential for flooding. Landowners of the east branch of the creek have also been clearing their portion.

Herscher’s village board met Monday evening for their final meeting of the year.

At the meeting, the board approved the Clark Dietz Professional Service Agreement which oversees the replacement/repair of the sewer tank which was damaged during last summer’s flooding.

The $75,000 Horse Creek cleanup is still in progress and expected to be finished by the end of the year. Some landowners are also doing their part to clean their portion of the creek.

The new water softeners have been online since Friday.  Ray Schneider announced, “The new water plant is something to be proud of. There is a lot of new equipment in there.”
