For 18 years, the HUGS Program has existed at Limestone Elementary School and enables the students and their families to help others during the holiday season.

Focusing primarily on helping local children in need, the group accepts monetary donations from students and their families and fulfills wish lists from Harbor House and the Salvation Army, while also assisting many district families and the county’s homeless population.

This year HUGS is proud to have added Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit organization that builds beds for children who have no beds of their own. HUGS was able to purchase 24 sets of twin sheets, comforters, and pillows for children’s beds.

HUGS is so grateful to the Limestone families, teachers, retired teachers, a local church organization, and friends of the school to have received donations totaling $3,142.25 this year.
