At Monday’s evening’s Herscher Village Board meeting, John Branz started the meeting by saying that the village was in good financial standing.
The fence at Lions Park, which was damaged by the flooding last summer, will be replaced soon. The cost of the fence replacement will be covered by insurance.
Andy Cotter stated that they received a bid for over $20,000 to replace the press box at Village Park. So that project will have to be placed out for bid.
Additionally, the roof of the pavilion at Leiser Park has deteriorated and needs to be replaced at a cost of $14,650.
The board also announced that Comed will be updating the light bulbs to LED’s around the village in the coming months.
Following the Board meeting, a brief finance meeting occurred where it was announced that there will be a public Q & A session to explain the tax referendum.
The dates for the Q & A sessions are Tuesday, March 23rd at 7 pm and Saturday March 27th at 10 am.
The board also expressed appreciation for the work done to keep the village clean and safe during the recent snow events.
