Herscher’s Village Board offered the hope of a normal Halloween this year as the board voted last night to have trick or treat hours. The board members discussed proper safety protocols that can be used to limit risk but still allow the children to have a normal event for the first time in months.

Further discussion regarding hours and the publication of safety suggestions for COVID were tabled until the next meeting.

In addition, the board accepted a bid from Hamann Wagner Excavating for $51,988 to clean out Horse Creek in order to help alleviate the flooding issues that have hampered the residents on the northeast side of town. December 18 is the anticipated date of completion.

The digital sign on Rt. 115 will have power run to it October 1st with the hopes of it being operational shortly thereafter.
