V. “Jean” Adams, age 91 of Manteno passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Riverside Butterfield Court, Kankakee. She was born on October 5, 1931, in Mount Carmel, IL, the daughter of Luther and Alice (Knisley) Favors. Jean married Billie D. Adams on December 16, 1949, in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2016, after 66 years of marriage.
Jean was the office administrator for I.B. of T. Local 705 for 22 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Jean enjoyed crafts and sewing. She enjoyed going for walks. Most of all, she thoroughly enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Jean was a member of the Manteno United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William (Victoria) Adams of LoLo Montana, James (Lori) Adams of Gold Beach, Oregon; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy (Ray) Carson of Kankakee; four grandchildren, Jamie Rindal, Travis Carson, Sarah Yuncker, Jesse Adams; three step grandchildren, Rose Peck, Molly Laleau, Alex Mattick; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Billie; her parents; one brother, Rae Favors; and one granddaughter, Casey Jean Adams.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Manteno United Methodist Church, Manteno. Interment will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee.
Arrangements are being handled by Schreffler Funeral Homes, Kankakee.
