Leland Maxim Denault, 92, of Herscher, passed away Sept. 29 at Ascension Living Heritage Village in Kankakee.
He was born Sept. 7, 1930 in Goodrich, the son of Ernest and Alice (Perreault) Denault. Leland married Patricia Uribe on June 16, 1951, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee. She preceded him in death Jan. 19, 2013.
Leland spent his life farming and was also a school bus driver for 33 years for Herscher School District 2.
He loved watching his kids and grandkids in their sports activities.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Goodrich.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel Denault, of Bourbonnais, Brian Denault, of Edina, Minn., Jim (Denise) Denault, of Herscher, and Chris (Kristin) Denault, of Batavia; four daughters and four sons-in-law, Denise (Kendall) Wenzelman, of Bonfield, Sandy (Barry) Schaumburg, of Cadiz, Ky., Kathleen (Russell) Bone, of Bourbonnais, and Alicia Denault (Jay Klei), of Yorkville; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Patricia Denault, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell Denault; two sisters, Yolanda Weinhold and Edell Schroeder; and one brother, Melville Denault.
Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Goodrich. The Rev. Ron Neitzke celebrated the Mass. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
