Jack L. Gross of Rogersville, MO. (formerly of Herscher, IL) passed away from a lengthy illness on May 30, 2019 at his home.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1937 in Peoria, IL to Wanetta Gross. He retired from Quaker Oats in 1993 after 31 years. After his retirement, he worked for many years for Chuck Noffke mowing and snow plowing. He was married to Sue C. Schlaich Splear on Nov. 27, 1977.
He loved camping, fishing, Nascar, his animals, and most of all, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sue of Missouri; 2 sons, Dale (Sarah) Gross of Missouri and Jack (Kimberly) Gross of Mississippi; 1 step-daughter, Jeannine (Mark) Simpkins of Kankakee; 1 step-son, Rudy (Julie) Splear of Herscher; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with one on the way.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, brother, Donald; daughter, Jackie Crank; grandbaby, Rudy Richard; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Laverne and Frances Schlaich; and 3 brothers-in-law, Buddy, Billy, and Rory Schlaich.
A memorial service will be held June 15, 2019 at Son Rise Christian Church in Missouri.
