Gayle L. Lamie, 70, of Chebanse, passed away after a sudden illness at Amita Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, on Friday, May 24, 2019.
Gayle was born on August 8, 1948 in Chebanse Township; the daughter of Donald and Mary Eloise (Ader) Kramer.
She was an office associate for the Illinois State Department of Corrections for many years; during her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, daily walks at the Chebanse Civic Center, and making holiday candies.
Gayle is survived by her companion of 29 years Jerry Rasmussen of Chebanse, her son Brett (Jessica Bigari) Lamie of Watseka, her grand-daughters; Bella, Elise “Weezer”, and Soleil Lamie all of Salt Lake City, UT, her step-children Michelle (Bill) Lucas of Kankakee, Robin (Matt) Mroz of Bourbonnais, her step-grandchildren; Billy Lucas, Madelyn, and Samantha Mroz, her siblings Pattie (Mark) Denault of Kankakee, Ray (Chongnam) Kramer of Limestone, Mike (Linda) Kramer of Clifton, Glenn (Nancy) Kramer of Kankakee, and Paul Kramer of Chebanse, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers: Pat, Ronald, and Steven.
To honor Gayle’s wishes cremation rites were accorded by the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. A celebration of life gathering for Gayle was held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Chebanse Community Center.
