James R. Perry, 45, of Herscher, formerly of Reddick, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at his home. 

He was born September 15, 1975 in Miami, FL to James B. Perry and Peggy L. Brown. 

James married Michele M. Feller on December 31, 2003 in Kankakee. 

He worked at multiple medical facilities as a CNA. He was a volunteer fire fighter & EMT for Gardner and Essex Fire Department. James was also Fire Chief of the Reddick Fire Department for several years. 

James was a huge fan of dirt track racing and loved spending lots of time with his family and friends. James also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He was a member of the Reddick United Methodist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Michele; mother, Peggy (Steve Snow) Brown; 2 sons, Seth Perry (Chloe Bachman) of Saunemin and Kody Shearer of Herscher; 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law; Erica Perry (Steven Bradley) of Herscher, Kaylee and Eddie Boudreau of Dwight, and Myrissa Perry at home; 1 grandson, Parker Feller; 1 brother; Michael Perry (Ashley Erickson) of Herscher; 2 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law; Roberta and Brett Buza of Buckingham and Lucinda Feller of Dover, OH; in-laws, Donald and Marie Feller of Reddick;aunts, Faye (Jack) Taral of Streator, Rebecca Turner of Gibson City, and Marlene (Gary) Miller of LaPorte, IN; cousins, Thelma, Charles Lee, Jackie, Jennifer, and Christopher; nieces and nephews, Makayla, Ashley, and Cole Perry; Zoe, Wyatt, and Xander Buza; special friends, Kimberly Perry, Randy and Lisa Kielfing. 

James is preceded in death by his father, James; step-mother, Patsy Perry; step-father, Gary Humbert; and his grandparents. 

There was a memorial service held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 1 pm at Herscher Village Park. Pastor Kevin Boesen officiated. 

There is a memorial fund set up at Elite Community Credit Union to help with James’ final expenses.
