Herscher’s competitive cheerleading season came to an end this past weekend.

“The last couple of months have pushed us hard, but that has not stopped us from getting what we wanted most… STATE!” said junior Alexis Evans.

After placing third at sectionals, the team advanced to the state competition at ISU last Saturday.

“State was our best performance of the season because we had no deductions and hit perfectly,” said junior Megan Basham.

The team placed 16th on the first day at state, ending their season feeling proud of the accomplishments they have made.

Head cheer coach Kathy Astrella said, “Hard work and dedication paid off this year for the girls. State is a huge accomplishment and we are very happy for the experience and grateful for all of the support this year.”
