Herscher High School hosted the Herscher Cross Country Invite on September 28 where teams from all over the area came to run.

The HHS team had a good day placing second on both girls and boys sides. Herscher junior Trevor Stutz stated about the meet, “It was a fun race and the course was wet from the rain. It was still fun anyway!”

At the Invite, a total of 17 teams showed up to race. The top Herscher runner for boys, sophomore Drew Rogers, placed first in the meet with a time of 15:41.2. The top runner for girls, junior Natalie Rink, placed fourth in the meet with a time of 20:46.7.

Sophomore Ben Morgan stated about the meet, “I felt I was able to perform very well in the conditions. The team was affected by the weather with some slower times, but we were able to make it through.”

Senior Madison Rogers said about Saturday, “The meet went really well all around. Both teams got 2nd place overall, which was awesome considering the amount of teams that were there. My teammates did great this weekend.”
