The Herscher Tigers followed up their blowout win against Momence with a close contest victory over Coal City over the weekend. The Tigers came out on top of the Coalers in a 52-41 come from behind win after they went into the locker room down 14-22 at halftime.

Freshman Macey Moore said, “Saturday’s game was played at a fast pace which I’m very comfortable playing. The team shared the ball making the extra passes for open shots. Mya takes a lot off of us which led to my 15 points. Overall it was a very good team and conference win!”

Some bad news for the Tigers came when junior Emelia Schafer came up with a shooting hand injury in the second quarter just before half time. Schafer is a starter for the team and will be a significant loss. The Tigers will need to find a temporary replacement for her as she recovers from her injury.

The Tigers will be competing in multiple games over the upcoming weekend in the Holiday Hoops tournament at Iroquois West. The ladies will attempt to keep their dominant play rolling as they travel before the holidays officially begin.
